The years between school and settled adult life ask a great deal of a person. Online therapy offers a confidential, secure space to make sense of things, one that holds steady through terms, vacations and time away, with a therapist who understands the particular pressures of student life.
Online therapy is the same considered work as sitting in a room together, carried over a secure video connection. We work relationally and at your pace. There is no fixed script and no imposed agenda; the conversation develops according to what you bring and what you need.
You are not hurried towards solutions or asked to override what you feel. You are helped to understand what is happening, why it makes sense, and how you might meet it differently. Sessions are private, structured, and held to the same professional standard as work done in person.
Over time this steadies how you regulate, widens your perspective and rebuilds self-trust, so that study, work and relationships begin to feel less like something to brace against.
We do not begin from diagnosis. Where specialist assessment is appropriate, we help you think about the right next step within our wider network. Where it is not, we begin from careful understanding.
A great deal changes at once in these years: where you live, who is around you, what is asked of you, and how much of it you are meant to manage alone. It is common to look as though you are coping and to feel, privately, a long way from it.
There is no concern too small to bring, and none too large. Therapy attends to the whole person, not a list of symptoms.
You do not need to arrive with the right words, or a tidy explanation.
Much of the work is simply thinking clearly, out loud, with someone who is properly on your side.
Therapy may address
You keep the same therapist and the same hour whether you are in halls, home for the vacation, or somewhere in between. The work does not restart each term. It simply continues.
Same therapist · same hour · through the vacations
Shared houses and halls make privacy hard to find. Online sessions let you meet from a space that is yours, with no waiting room, no corridor, and no one needing to know where you are going.
Private · secure · from a space that is yours
A placement in another city, a term abroad, a move back home after graduating. Online work holds steady across all of it, so a change of address never means beginning again with someone new.
Across the UK · and by arrangement while you are away
If you are eighteen or over, you arrange therapy yourself. No one else needs to be involved, and nothing is shared with a parent, a university or anyone else without your agreement.
What you bring to sessions is confidential. The limits to that confidentiality are few, and we are clear about them from the start: where there is a serious risk to your life or someone else’s, we would work with you to find the right help. We would always try to talk it through with you first.
Some students reach us shortly before their eighteenth birthday. Where that is the case, we follow the same careful approach to consent and confidentiality we use across the practice, in line with professional guidance.
If the unknown of a first session is part of what is holding you back, we have set out the steps plainly on what to expect in your first session →
We begin with a short initial conversation to understand what is prompting support and whether online therapy is the right fit at this time.
There is no obligation and no pressure. Every enquiry is handled personally and with care. We aim to respond within one working day.
Fees are discussed during that first conversation, so we can shape an arrangement that fits your situation. We work with young adults funding sessions themselves and with families funding them together.

A brief initial conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing. We are happy to help you think it through.
